Judgment on Mortada Mansour’s appeal against the decision to imprison him for insulting Al-Khatib

The Economic Court of Appeal has adjourned the appeal of Mortada Mansour, President of the Egyptian Zamalek Club, against his imprisonment in a defamation suit filed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahli, until the next hearing on 17 July.

The court decided to extend the term for the announcement of the verdict in the case, the consideration of which was scheduled for today’s meeting.

The Economic Offenses Court sentenced Mortada Mansour to one year in prison, a £10,000 fine and £10,000 bail in a lawsuit filed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib in which he accused him of insulting and slandering him through social media.

Mortada Mansour then appealed this decision to the Economic Court of Appeal, which considered the first appeal hearings on May 2 and decided to postpone the hearing at which the court ordered the announcement of the verdict, but decided to extend the deadline for its announcement. complete the complaint.
