Portuguese star Joao Felix’s first match against his new Chelsea team on Thursday night turned into a nightmare in English Premier League football competition.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Felix completed his move to Chelsea on loan from Atlético Madrid until the end of the current season.
The Portugal international started his new team’s match mostly against host Fulham and missed a bunch of first-half chances before being red-carded in the 58th minute after a rough tackle against Fulham’s Kenny Tete.
Felix became the first player to be expelled from Chelsea in his first match in the Premier League, according to the statistics network Opta.

Felix is also the first player ever to receive a red card in his first match in the English Premier League since Felix was sent off in Tottenham’s match against Manchester City in October 2014.
Felix’s misfortune did not stop there in his first match, as Chelsea lost 1-2 to Fulham, with the latter managing to score the winning goal only 20 minutes after the Portuguese star was sent off.
With this defeat, Chelsea’s balance sheet froze at 25 points in tenth place, while Fulham extended their balance sheet with their win to 31 points in sixth place.
