Japan protests North Korea’s missile launch

Japan’s Ministry of Defense announced that Tokyo had filed a protest with North Korea over Pyongyang’s launch of a new ballistic missile.

Japanese Deputy Defense Minister Toshiro Ino said at a press conference on Saturday morning local time that the ministry believes Pyongyang fired two ballistic missiles.

He added that the two missiles covered a distance of 350 to 400 km and reached a maximum height of 50 km.

“Through diplomatic channels, we protested to North Korea in connection with the launch of two missiles,” he stressed.

He pointed out that for the first time North Korea carried out 4 missile launches in one week, adding that this “poses a threat to the security of the country and the region.”
