It’s official.. Liverpool make a deal in Mercato’s last moments

Liverpool Football Club on Thursday evening officially announced the signing of Brazilian Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus at the last minute before the summer transfer window closes in 2022.

Liverpool said on their official Twitter account: “Yes, a new midfielder, as everyone wanted.

We are pleased to announce the signing of Artur Melo from Italian club Juventus on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season.”

At the same time, Juventus said in an official statement that the loan will be for the rest of the season (2022-2023) and took place in the amount of 4.5 million euros, and bonuses – 0.3 million euros, in addition, the agreement provides for an option to buy Arthur for 37 €.5 million payable over two financial years.

Arthur Melo joined Juventus in September 2020 from Barcelona and has played for the Bianconeri in 63 matches and scored just one goal.

Artur, 26, started his professional career at Brazilian club Grêmio and made 50 appearances in four seasons for Porto Alegre before moving to Barcelona in 2018.

The Brazilian spent two years at the Camp Nou, winning the Spanish League title and the Royal Super Cup with the Catalan team, where he represented the club 72 times in all competitions and scored 6 goals.

Artur has made 22 international appearances for Brazil so far and won the 2019 Copa América alongside fellow countrymen goalkeeper Alisson Becker and striker Roberto Firmino before joining them now at Liverpool.
