Italian Agency Reports on Tunisia’s Awaited Agreement with IMF to Receive European Financial Aid

The Italian news agency Aki has reported that the European Commission is working on a major overall bailout package for Tunisia, supplementing an agreement with the International Monetary Fund.

The Italian agency added that this is stated in an informal document of the European executive body, prepared in the light of the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council next Monday, which will be held in Luxembourg.

And she said that in anticipation of Tunisia’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund, the Commission is preparing, on the one hand, a full package of financial assistance.

She explained, citing diplomatic sources in Brussels, that, on the other hand, the European Commission is exploring the possibility of providing more support to the budget by adding new projects.
