Israeli police investigate man who threatened to kill Lapid

Israeli police have launched an investigation into a resident of northern Israel on suspicion of making death threats against Prime Minister Yair Lapid.

According to Ynet, the suspect left a comment on a post on one of Lapid’s social media accounts, in which he said, “I want to kill you today with a sniper rifle.”

In March 2021, police arrested a man who allegedly threatened online to kill Lapid, who was an opposition leader at the time.

The latest threat comes a week after Walla: News reported that Prime Minister Lehi Lapid’s wife had received messages wishing her family would suffer a violent death or cancer.
