Israeli military source: Al-Qassam Brigades’ statement was made within "psychological warfare"

An Israeli military source commented on the Al-Qassam Brigades’ claim that the health of one of the Israeli prisoners was deteriorating, stating that the claim was made as part of “psychological warfare”.

An Israeli official told Kan TV, “This announcement is a provocation by Hamas on the eighth anniversary of Operation Protective Edge, referring to the 2014 Gaza war.

“We do not notice any changes in their health,” the official said.

Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, hold soldiers Avira Mengistu and Hisham al-Sayed, as well as the bodies of soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul, after the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip in 2014.

Abu Obeida, a spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, did not specify who the soldier whose health had deteriorated was, but promised to confirm it in the coming hours.
