The official Hebrew TV channel Kan reported that the number of suicides in the Israeli army recorded a jump in half a year, as 11 soldiers committed suicide since the beginning of 2022.
She pointed out that during the past year, 11 military personnel committed suicide, and in 2020, 9 military personnel committed suicide.
Authorities said Israeli army manpower chief Yaniv Ashur held an emergency meeting with psychiatric officials to examine the reasons behind such an alarming rise in these suicide cases, their links to the Corona period and other variables.
She added: “There was no clear conclusion from the meeting, but the army commanders ordered increased vigilance and attention to this issue.”
She added that Ashur had ordered a hotline for the Israeli army.
