Israeli dies two weeks after being stabbed in the West Bank

An Israeli settler died Tuesday from stab wounds in the West Bank last month.

Shalom Sofer, 63, was stabbed in the stomach at a grocery store in the Palestinian village of Fundok on October 24, was taken to hospital and discharged last week, his family said.

The victim’s son, Lidore Sofer, told Kan Public Radio that his father appeared to be recovering from a week at home, but one of his wounds reopened and he quickly lost a lot of blood.

He added that his father was taken to the hospital but died on Tuesday.

The wife of the deceased accused the hospital of improperly caring for her husband, saying that he was taken away prematurely.
