Israeli Chief of Staff: We are intensively preparing for a military attack on Iran, and this is a moral duty

Israel’s chief of staff confirmed that its army “continues to intensively prepare for an attack on Iran,” noting that “preparing for a military option against Iran’s nuclear program is a moral duty and an important issue of national security.”

These statements were made in a speech given by Awav Kochavi during the handover and handover ceremony to the Home Front Command on Sunday.

He said: “Preparing the home front for war is a task that needs to be accelerated in the coming years, especially in light of the possibility that we will have to act against the nuclear threat. The IDF continues to prepare for an intense attack on Iran. and must be prepared for every development and every scenario.”

He added: “Preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons through diplomacy is the preferred path, but history has proven many times that diplomacy can fail or succeed for a certain period of time and then be broken or betrayed.”

Kochavi pointed out that preparations for military action against the nuclear program are “at the heart of the preparations” in the Israeli army, which include various war plans that have been allocated many resources, arming with appropriate weapons, in addition to intelligence work and training.

And earlier on Sunday, a senior adviser to Iranian leader Ali Khamenei said that Iran is indeed capable of making a nuclear bomb, but has not yet made a decision on this matter.
