An Iraqi security source in Diyala said on Friday that a soldier was killed and two wounded in an explosion targeting a military patrol southwest of Baquba.
A source told Shafaq News: “As a result of an explosive device explosion in the area of a military patrol in the Al-Bejat district between the districts of Buhriz and Kanaan, 20 km southwest of the city of Baquba.”
“The security service went to the scene and evacuated the victim and the injured, while another group began a search campaign to search for the attackers,” he added.
The areas south of Bukhraz and Naan are hotbeds of ISIS hidden pockets and witness security incidents from time to time.
