US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said US sanctions have caused an economic crisis in Iran, but Tehran’s policy has not changed as Washington wanted.
“Our sanctions on Iran have created a real economic crisis in the country, and Iran’s economic problems because of the sanctions are great. This is also true for North Korea. And Bloomberg at one time reported that sanctions, which in the United States are considered the equivalent of nuclear weapons, did not deal a proper blow to the Russian economy, which called into question the effectiveness of this tool as a whole.
