Iranian warlord: let Saudi regime know there are limits to restraint

Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, head of the Iranian Army’s Center for Strategic Studies, pointed out “Saudi Arabia’s involvement” in recent unrest in the country in statements.

He said: “The Saudi regime should know that Iran is showing restraint towards it, but there are limits to that.”

According to Iranian media reports, the Iranian judiciary has charged about 800 people with involvement in the “recent riots” in the provinces of Hormozgan, Isfahan and Markazi.

Data from the Iranian judiciary shows that more than 2,200 people have been charged since the protests began two months ago, half of them in Tehran.

Iranian authorities accuse Iran’s enemies, especially the US, of being behind the protests, which Tehran calls “riots.”
