Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has warned the US and Israel of a “tough and deplorable response” to any action against the Islamic Republic.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s warning came during US President Joe Biden’s visit to Israel, where he discussed concerns with Israeli leaders about Iran’s booming nuclear program.
Israel renewed its pledge to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
The official IRNA news agency reported that Raisi accused Washington and its regional allies of destabilizing the region.
“Any mistake made by the Americans and their allies in the region and the world will be met with a harsh and unfortunate response,” he said.
One of the goals of Biden’s visit to the Middle East is to strengthen Israel’s security alliance with the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, based on the need to counter the common threat from Iran.
Raisi added that Israel “cannot have normal relations in the region at all.”
Talks to revive the faltering nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers have stalled.
Raisi said on Wednesday that Iran will stick to its correct and logical position in the confrontation, without going into details.
