The ministry said in a statement: “In an intelligence operation that is considered one of the largest and most complex operations of the Ministry of Security, a series of investigations and operations carried out since the attack in Shiraz to date has led to the identification and arrest of all elements involved in this incident. as well as those who worked to lead, carry out and support the terrorist act.” “A number of other elements who had entered the country to carry out similar operations were arrested, bringing the number of terrorists to 26.”
She emphasized that “all the detainees are not Iranians, but are citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan”, explaining that “the main element for leading and coordinating the operation arrived from the Republic of Azerbaijan and entered the country through the air border at Tehran International Airport. Through the operational communications of an organization that is present in Afghanistan.”
She stated that “the element that supported the operation in Shiraz, an Afghan named Muhammad Ramiz Rashidi, nicknamed Abu Basir, and the one who carried out the attack, named Sahan Kamrouni, nicknamed Abu Aisha, is a citizen of Tajikistan”, noting that “26 terrorists were pursued and arrested in provinces of Fars, Tehran, Alborz and Kerman. “Qom and Khorasan-Razavi, and a number of them were arrested on the eastern border while trying to escape from the country.”
She added: “A number of the detainees were preparing for other terrorist operations, including an operation in Zahedan, in the southeast of the country.”
And she stressed that “round-the-clock intelligence and comprehensive surveillance continues in various parts of the country, as well as outside it, in order to identify and punish all the Takfiri terrorist elements involved in the tragedy at the shrine of Shahraj, and the families of the victims will certainly become witnesses of retribution.”
