Iran: 61 arrested in Iza bombing that killed 7

Iranian authorities have announced the arrest of 61 people pending investigation in connection with an attack two weeks ago on the city of Iza (eastern province of Khuzestan), which left 7 people dead and 8 injured.

Ali Dehgani, head of the Judicial Court in Khuzestan Province (SW), said: “54 suspects out of a total of 61 have been issued temporary arrest warrants pending whether they were convicted of involvement in this terrorist crime. .”

He explained that “procedures are in place by the investigating judge, the police and the internal security forces to identify and bring to justice all perpetrators and elements directly or indirectly involved in this attack,” stressing that “all those involved in the Izat attack will receive fair and deterrent punishment, and that the Iranian judiciary is determined to confront anyone who threatens the security of the people and the stability of the country.

And several Iranian news agencies previously reported that as a result of shelling by unknown persons in the city of Izeh in the south of the country, several people were killed and wounded.
