Serbian television reported that two female workers were injured in an explosion today, Monday, at the Krušić defense plant in the city of Valjevo in western Serbia.
The TV station added that the 40-year-old worker was seriously injured when the Ka-34 capsule in her hands exploded, noting that she was taken to the city hospital. A second worker was standing near the explosion site and suffered less serious injuries.
An investigation into the circumstances of the accident is currently underway.
The Krucek plant in Valjevo, 100 km southwest of the capital Belgrade, is one of the largest defense plants in the country.
