Inflation in Russia has decreased over the past week

The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia indicated that the inflation rate in Russia for the week from December 20 to 26 decreased from 12.35% to 12.19% on an annualized basis.

According to the report of the ministry, the inflation rate for the period from December 20 to 26 was 0.12%, and since the beginning of the year – 12.01%.

According to the report, food prices rose while non-food prices fell.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council that inflation in Russia this year is expected to reach 12.2%.

In turn, the Ministry of Economic Development expected that the inflation rate in 2022 would reach 12%, and next year it would decrease to 5.5%.
