Indonesian President Joko Widodo called for settlement and negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine in order to restore global food supply chains.
Widodo said the conflict must be resolved and “global food supply chains” restored, noting that he would urge the leaders of Russia and Ukraine to find an opportunity for dialogue.
And in the middle of the month, the media reported that the Russian president would meet with his Indonesian counterpart in Moscow on June 30. The Jakarta Post also reported that Widodo intends to discuss the problem of Ukrainian grain exports in Moscow, as well as at the upcoming G20 summit chaired by Indonesia.
The Jakarta Post notes that Indonesia opposes sanctions against the Russian Federation for conducting a special operation in Ukraine.
