Indonesian Ambassador: Work is underway to resume direct flights with Russia

Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Jose Tavares said in an interview with Novosti Agency on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum that his country is working with Russia to resume direct flights to Russia.

The ambassador pointed out that this requires the presence of representative offices of Russian airlines in Jakarta.

He added: “Yes, some measures need to be implemented. We have already received requests from some Russian airlines – Aeroflot, Nordwind, and these requests have been forwarded to the relevant authorities in Jakarta. Of course, there are certain requirements that must be met. implemented, among which the opening of an airline office in Jakarta to better communicate. The resumption of flights to Bali requires a representative office in Indonesia for the airlines involved.”

The Ambassador noted that many Russian airlines are showing interest in establishing air communication between the two countries.

“Currently, applications from some Russian airlines, such as Aeroflot, NordWind and Azur Air, are being considered. According to the information I have, Azur Air has received approval and permission to operate direct flights from Vladivostok to Bali,” he said.
