India. Two people were killed and 21 were electrocuted during a football match.

Two people were killed, one of them a player, and 12 others were injured by a lightning strike during a football match in the Indian state of Odisha on Sunday.

The police indicated that one of the dead was a football player, and most of the injured were fans. Police also noted that although the sky was cloudy, it was not raining when the lightning struck.

She confirmed that 17 of the wounded had been transferred to the Rourkela public hospital, while the other four had been transferred to Hattibari hospital for treatment.
Notably, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that the state could see more rainfall over the next two days due to a cyclonic circulation over the southwestern Bay of Bengal.
