In April 2023, the Russian Ruble Surges to New Heights Against the Dollar

The Russian ruble rose against the US and European currencies on the Moscow Exchange today, Monday, and the dollar traded below 81 rubles for the first time since the beginning of April 2023.

By 12:35 Moscow time, the dollar fell by 60 kopecks (rule = 100 kopecks) to 81.06 rubles, and a few minutes before that, the US currency was trading below 81 rubles.

The euro exchange rate fell by 42 kopecks to 89.33 rubles, according to the data of the Moscow Exchange.

On the stock market, the index of shares of the Moscow Exchange denominated in MICEX rubles rose by 0.27% to 2647.10 points, while the stock index of shares denominated in RTS dollars rose by 0.69% to 1026.5 points.
