"Image and tweet" Linked to ex-Real Madrid player who pissed off Turki Al-Sheikh

Turki Al-Sheikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Entertainment, expressed anger at the news of a player’s transfer to his Spanish side Almería, noting that spreading rumors was not helping the team.

The official Twitter account of the La Voz Deportes program spoke about a possible deal for the Almería club in the last days of the summer Mercato.

The account posted a “tweet” saying: “Gonzalo Melero has been selected to reinforce midfield at Almeria and it has been fully agreed between Almeria and Levante that the matter will be formally addressed in the next few hours.”

Gonzalo Melero is a 28-year-old Spanish midfielder who has been playing for Levante since 2017.

The most notable stoppage in Melero’s career was with the Real Madrid reserves between 2011 and 2015, after which he moved to Bonfradin, Huesca and Levante.

This “tweet” angered Turki Al Sheikh as he responded to it in Spanish via his official account, saying, “The rumors you are spreading about the team are not helping us at all.”
