Hungary to Receive Additional Gas Supplies from Russia

The Russian company “Gazprom” has announced that it is considering the possibility of supplying additional volumes of gas to Hungary in excess of those stipulated by the concluded contracts.

The company said in a statement: “We will consider the possibility of supplying additional volumes of gas to Hungary in excess of the contractual volume in 2023, and the Hungarian side will pay a deferred payment.”

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siarto said that his country had extended an agreement with Russia on additional gas supplies and agreed to preferential payments for the main part of blue fuel supplies.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister arrived in Moscow today to discuss joint cooperation between Russia and Hungary in the field of energy, despite his country’s membership in the European Union and Union sanctions against Russia and its gas.
