Hollande: I don’t know anything about Macron’s deal"Uber"

Former French President Francois Hollande said the Elysee Palace was unaware of a “deal” between current head of state Emmanuel Macron and taxi service Uber.

Earlier, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), partly funded by the George Soros Foundation, reported that Macron, as economy minister, helped the company after police suspended its service in Marseille in 2015.

The company then contacted the group to put pressure on Macron, who promised to personally deal with the problem. Mond concluded that it was a “secret deal” between the economy minister and Uber.

Hollande told Liberation: “At the level of the Élysée, not a single transaction has been identified. If that were the case, the Élysée would not have recognized.” Hollande was President of France from 2012 to 2017.

On Monday, it became known that the French parliamentary faction “Uncompromising” intends to exercise its right to create an investigative committee to investigate Macron’s relationship with Uber.
