Rafaela Pimenta, the agent for Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, has said the latter could become the first player in football history to break the £1bn barrier.
Haaland joined City last summer from Borussia Dortmund, having paid a £51.2 million (around €60m) penalty clause in his contract.
When asked about Haaland’s price, Pimenta told Sky Sport Italia on Friday: “One billion pounds I think.”
“If you add together his footballing value, his image value and his sponsorship value, it’s almost £1bn.”
And she noted: “It’s also natural to compare Erling and Kylian Mbappe, I think Erling will be the first player to win a transfer deal worth around £1bn.”
Haaland got off to a great start at Manchester City, scoring 15 goals in the first 10 matches of this season in the English Premier League to top the list of goalscorers.
