Alexander Kozlov, former Spartak Moscow football player, has died at the age of 29.

Kozlov suffered a thrombosis while preparing for the new season at the Zorkiy club from Krasnogorsk, Russia, which plays in the Russian second division.

Kozlov was considered one of the main talents of the new generation in Russia, and he played his first match in the Champions League at the age of 17.

Kozlov played 28 matches for Spartak Moscow, in which he scored one goal, from 2010 to 2016, and in the 2014–2015 season he won the title of Russian champion.

He also played for the Russian clubs Tyumen, Khimki, Tosno, Vakil, Ararat Yerevan from Armenia, Okzyptes from Kazakhstan and Aluston from Kazakhstan.
