UN Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized the importance of removing obstacles to the export of Russian fertilizers by all countries in order to rid the world of the food crisis.
He stated that the crisis in Ukraine has caused a three-dimensional crisis involving food, money and energy, and that the damage is clearly visible in developing countries and the gas crisis needs to be resolved.
He stressed that the only way to end the suffering in Ukraine is to end the war.
In another context, Guterres thanked Turkey for its role in facilitating the exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine.
