Greek Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos confirmed that a shootout took place between police officers and a group of criminals in the capital of Athens, in which one of the attackers was killed and two police officers were wounded.
He said: “Two police officers encountered bandits in the Patisia district of the capital of Athens, where a shootout took place. As a result of the incident, two officers managed to kill one of the criminals. They saved the citizens with courage.”
“Fortunately, both police officers were slightly injured,” he added.
He indicated that he accompanied the Chief of the Metropolitan Police to visit the hospital where the two officers were taken and to check their health, and said, “Everything will be fine.”
According to the local portal Proto Tema, an armed robbery took place at the gas station, the police soon arrived at the scene, a shootout broke out between the two sides, which led to the death of one of the attackers. and wounding two policemen.
