"Great respect for the goal"Haaland embarrassed by Lewandowski

Norwegian star Erling Haaland, a Manchester City striker, has admitted he was embarrassed when Bayern Munich management entered into talks with him ahead of his departure from Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season.

Haaland, 22, moved from Signal Iduna Park to Manchester City this summer for 75 million euros, the amount listed in his punitive contract with Borussia Dortmund.

“I felt sorry for Robert Lewandowski, and I think that their negotiating with me in his presence is disrespectful to him,” Haaland said during his appearance in the video documentary with the Viaplay app.

The Norwegian footballer praised the 34-year-old Lewandowski’s performance in the Bavarian giant’s jersey ahead of his departure to Barcelona.

“I don’t know how many goals he (Lewandowski) scored there and what titles he won,” Haaland said.

Halland spoke about the scenes of choosing his new club before leaving for Manchester City, where he said: “I was wondering if the potential club has a strong striker?”
