"Global Times"American criticism of relations between Moscow and Beijing stems from Washington’s fear of the demise of its hegemony.

The Chinese newspaper Global Times considered Washington’s concern about the continued strengthening of relations between Moscow and Beijing to be absurd, as Washington fears that these two powers will undermine American hegemony.

For the United States, the improvement in relations between Beijing and Washington is in line with all international rules, but the partnership between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin is described by the White House as “the wrong side of history.” this is absurd.

The newspaper pointed out that Western politicians are trying to distort Russian-Chinese relations in an attempt to isolate the two powers from the international community.

For the United States, Moscow and Beijing are not only major competitors, but also potential adversaries, and deepening cooperation between them will undermine American hegemony, which is what US President Joe Biden fears.

The US State Department confirmed that Washington is closely monitoring the behavior of Beijing, and warns China about the consequences of Russian assistance in the conflict with Ukraine and circumvention of Western sanctions.

According to US State Department spokesman Ned Price, countries helping Russia “will inevitably find themselves on the wrong side of history” after President Putin pointed out that Russian-Chinese cooperation is expanding in all areas and work is underway to strengthen it.
