Germany will not supply weapons to Ukraine except in agreement with its allies

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that his country would supply Ukraine with weapons only in agreement with its allies, avoiding unilateral steps.

“We provide very effective weapons, always in coordination with our friends and allies,” Schultz said, noting that Germany, along with the US and the UK, supplies rocket launchers to Kyiv, and the Netherlands supplies howitzers.

The adviser stressed that “all decisions are well thought out, and I want to make it clear that I am committed to this, and there will be no unilateral steps on our part.”

According to an earlier report by the German Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection, Germany supplied Ukraine with military goods worth 686 million euros. Kyiv has become the most important recipient of German weapons among the so-called non-NATO countries that are not partners in the alliance.
