Germany to expand its military presence in the Indo-Pacific region

Inspector General of the German Army Eberhard Zorn said that Germany plans to expand its military presence in the Indo-Pacific region.

“Germany will expand its military presence in the Indo-Pacific region by sending more ships to the region, taking part in exercises with allies and tracking the” huge “growth of the Chinese military,” Zorn told Reuters.

Notably, last month Germany sent 13 military aircraft to conduct joint exercises in Australia, in addition to one ship it sent to disputed territories in the South China Sea last year.
