Germany national team stripped of title "manvalny shaft"

After protests from fans and a number of officials, it was decided to drop the title of the German national football team “Manschaft”.

On Thursday, the German Federation announced that its supervisory board and shareholder meeting had unanimously decided to stop using the German name as a trademark.

And the German national team has held the German title for a long time, especially abroad, and has become the team’s official brand since 2015, a year after winning the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

But the team’s mediocre performance in recent years has led to a rethink, with fans expressing their opposition to the title, saying it carries a lot of exaggeration.

Former Bayern Munich star Lothar Matthäus and German Football Association president Hans-Joachim Watzke also called for the title to be abandoned.

“The appearance of a team is in any case more important than its name,” said Bernd Neuendorf, president of the German Football Association.

“In this regard, I have full confidence in coach Hans Flick, the director of the German Football Association Oliver Bierhoff and the players who had a great start last year,” he added.
