Germany complains about difficulties in accepting Ukrainian refugees and calls for a fair distribution among the EU countries

The authorities of the German state of Baden-Württemberg reported that they received more Ukrainian refugees than the whole of France, and demanded a fair distribution of those arriving among the EU countries.

According to the Bild newspaper, citing the director of the Department of Immigration, Siegfried Lorek, the state of Baden-Württemberg received more than 141,000 Ukrainian refugees, more than the number accepted by all of France.

Lorek urged the federal government to distribute refugees fairly and in a balanced way among the countries of the European Union in order to reduce the burden on Germany.

The Minister of Justice of Baden-Württemberg, Marion Gentings, pointed to the difficulty of accommodating refugees in the state due to their growing numbers exceeding their capacity.
