The German newspaper Welt am Sonntag reported that Chancellor Olaf Scholz has postponed the delivery of 11 Iris-T air defense systems to Kyiv, which he wants to purchase directly from the manufacturer.
The newspaper indicated that Ukraine had requested financial support for the purchase of these defense systems.
She noted that the cost of 11 systems is estimated at about 1.5 billion euros, and if a contract is signed this year, only one system can be delivered to Ukraine.
She noted that it would take 4 to 5 years to complete the contract.
