George Cohen, 1966 World Cup winner with England, dies

Fulham announced on Friday the death of their former player George Cohen, who won the 1966 FIFA World Cup with England, at the age of 83.

On their official Twitter account, Fulham said: “Everyone at Fulham Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of one of our greatest players and gentleman of all time, George Cohen MBE.”

Cohen began his international career in 1964 and played 37 times for his country, with the right back playing a real part in the only team’s World Cup victory.

Cohen spent his entire career at one club, Fulham, and made 459 appearances for them.
