Gas prices on the London Stock Exchange reach $1,680 per thousand cubic meters

ICE data in London showed gas prices in Europe rose 1.6 percent on Monday to around $1,680 per 1,000 cubic meters at the close.

Trading began on Monday as the August futures contract rose to just under $1,720.

Prices peaked at $1,752.8 (up 6.2%) and bottomed out at $1,625 (down 1.6 percent), closing at $1,676.7.

It is noteworthy that gas prices on European exchanges began to rise from July 13. The value of the futures contract rose from $900 to over $1,300 in a few days, then fell slightly, and then jumped back up to $1,900.

Markets were affected by lower supplies from Russia and lower imports of liquefied natural gas from the US.
