The largest countries of the G7 said today, Tuesday, that they are considering the possibility of introducing a complete ban on services that allow the transportation of Russian oil and oil products.
“We remain committed to considering a range of approaches, including options for a complete ban on all services that allow the transportation of Russian crude oil and marine oil products around the world, except when oil is purchased at or below the (set) price. agreed with international partners.
The countries also indicated in a statement that the G7, along with restrictive measures, will explore mechanisms to allow vulnerable countries to maintain access to energy markets, including from Russia.
Russia has previously warned that imposing restrictions on its oil would push up oil prices and that it would not sell its oil below cost.
