Today, Saturday, the FA Cup Competition Committee released the schedule for the 25th edition of the Gulf Cup, which will be held in Basra, Iraq, from January 6 to 19, 2023.
The matches of the tournament will begin with the opening meeting on January 6, in which the teams of Group A, Iraq (host) and Oman will meet at the Basra International Stadium.
At the same level, Jassim Al Rumaihi, Secretary General of the Gulf Arab Cup Football Federation, confirmed that the Iraqi city of Basra will host Gulf 25 on time and as previously scheduled.
Al-Rumaihi added: “We have ongoing and joint coordination with the brothers on the organizing committee of the tournament and the Iraqi Football Association, and we are constantly up to date on all developments and all other related organizational matters.”
The general secretary of the Gulf Arab Cup Football Federation explained: “There are some issues that need to be resolved quickly and what happened in the friendly match between Iraq and Costa Rica, which was canceled in the last moments, without going into details – will not no reason, no reason for disputes. Some of them are to interfere with our work to establish Gulf 25 in Basra.
Al Rumaihi concluded by emphasizing: “We, as the Gulf Arab Cup Football Federation, have full confidence that the Iraqi Football Association will correct any shortcomings and will work to prevent them from reoccurring and correct them in a timely manner, and they are able to do so.” with their organizational experience and field competencies.”
