French Media Regulator Demands Another Russian Channel Stop Broadcasting in France

The French media regulator Arcom demanded that the French satellite service Eutelsat stop broadcasting the Russian NTV-Mir channel in France.

And according to a statement released by Ark and published on its website today, Wednesday, the accusations of the organizer are related to reports and TV programs that were broadcast on this Russian channel from April 14 to April 24 of the latter in French. In particular, “Arkom” expressed dissatisfaction with the publication by the channel of statistical data on the alleged number of Ukrainians who sympathize with Nazi ideology. Arcom believes that this information creates a “particularly disturbing and dangerous picture for the population of Ukraine.”

The organizer also expressed dissatisfaction with the TV channel’s statement that the Ukrainian authorities continue military operations “with the support and encouragement, as well as with Western and European solutions.”

The statement added: “The publication of this information is a violation of Article No. 3 of the Law (“On the Freedom of Dissemination of Information”) of September 30, 1986 … NTV-Mir programs violate Articles No. 3 and 15 of the Law on this law.”

He continued: “We hereby order Eutelsat to stop providing broadcast services for NTV-Mir within 48 hours of being informed of this decision.”
