France plans to fill gas storage facilities by 100% by the end of summer

The French government intends to fill the country’s warehouses by 100% by the end of the summer, Prime Minister Olivier Véran said on Friday.

The French Prime Minister continued: “Russia has significantly reduced its gas supplies… but we are using everything we have to reduce our dependence on Russian gas and oil, including accelerating the filling of our gas storage facilities, which I expect will be 85 % full by the end of the summer, but I would still like it to be 100% full by then.”

Meanwhile, French Energy Minister Agnès Pannier-Runachette said earlier that by November 1, it is planned to completely fill the country’s strategic gas storage facilities.
