France allocates 85 million euros to compensate for a quarter of its artillery arsenal supplied to Kyiv

France plans to spend 85 million euros to replenish a quarter of its arsenal of self-propelled guns, supplying Kyiv with 18 CAESAR guns.

“The amount of 85 million euros will allow us to upgrade the arsenal,” AFP quotes the words of the Minister of the Armed Forces, Sebastian Licornu, during a hearing in the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the French Senate.

Before the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, France had 76 CAESAR guns. According to the company Nexter, which produces this weapon, it currently takes more than 18 months to manufacture a CAESAR cannon.
