Former US Intelligence Officer Predicts Ukraine’s F-16 Jets Will Be Shot Down Within a Month
Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the delivery of F-16 fighter jets would not change the position of Ukraine, which is suffering heavy losses and will be shot down within a month.
“They will be shot down within a month. These deliveries only create an illusion of security for Kyiv,” Ritter wrote on his account on the X platform (formerly Twitter), commenting on the decision of the Netherlands to transfer the F-16 to Ukraine.
The former officer noted that “the allies forced Zelensky to sacrifice more than 400,000 Ukrainians in a failed NATO maneuver… Shame on you for allowing this.”
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had reached an agreement with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte on the transfer of 42 F-16s to Kyiv.
On Sunday, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said at a joint press conference with Zelensky that “Denmark will send 19 American F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.”
The Danish Foreign Ministry confirmed its agreement to send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine “when conditions are created for this.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has previously pointed out that the US and its dependent NATO allies pose the risk of a direct armed clash with Russia, with catastrophic consequences.
He added that the acquisition by Kiev of aircraft capable of carrying nuclear weapons, Russia will consider a Western nuclear threat to it.
