Former Spartak player dies at the age of 43

Former midfielder of the Latvian national team and Spartak Moscow Andrei Robben has died at the age of 43, according to the website of the Latvian Football Federation.

The Latvian Federation did not specify the cause of the player’s death, but called him one of the best football players in the history of the country, and the organization expressed condolences to Robin’s family and friends.

It is noteworthy that Robben has played in Russia since 2003 for the Shinnik club from Yaroslavl (73 matches), and from 2005 to 2008 he wore a Spartak Moscow T-shirt and won a silver medal with him in the local league.

Robben has played 117 matches for the Latvian national team.
