Former Minister of Finland: Zelensky can divide the European Union

Former Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s call not to issue entry visas to Russians could cause a split in the European Union.

The former minister wrote on Twitter: “When considering the issue of the regime for the detention of Russians, it is important for the EU to come to a common position. Violation of unity in the interests of Putin.

The former Finnish minister supported the position of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who urged not to suspend the issuance of entry visas to all Russians.

Zelensky called on the EU countries to ban all Russian citizens from entering its territory, and later clarified that this does not apply to “opponents of the regime.”

A number of European countries, including Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, the Czech Republic and others, supported it, and some other countries expressed their reservations on this matter.
