Formation of a committee to draw up a roadmap for cooperation between Algeria and Syria in the energy sector

The Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines announced that its minister, Mohamed Arkab, has discussed with Syrian Ambassador to Algeria Namir Al-Ghanim partnership and investment opportunities in the energy sector.

The ministry said that the talks focused on discussing partnership and investment opportunities in the energy sector, especially in the field of hydrocarbons and the sale of liquefied petroleum gas, as well as in the field of production, transportation, transmission of electricity, maintenance. , training, equipment manufacturing and renewable energy.

She added that officials pointed to “great cooperation opportunities that exist in the mining sector, especially in the area of ​​phosphate mining and processing.”

She noted that the Minister of Energy and Mines of Algeria confirmed his country’s readiness to develop and deepen bilateral cooperation and identify specific projects.

She indicated that it had been decided to form a technical working group of the two ministries responsible for energy and mining, which would be responsible for developing a roadmap to ensure that their achievements were achieved.
