Bahraini sports club Hidd announced Thursday that Israeli-Palestinian professional Fadi Zidane has joined the club’s first football team for the 2022-2023 sports season.
Thus, for the first time since the normalization of relations between the two countries, an Arab-Israeli player will join the Bahraini competition.
Zaydan, 29, is from the village of Al Kababir in Haifa and has previously played for several Israeli, Palestinian and Arab sports teams.
Since September 2020, Israel has normalized relations with three Arab countries: the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco.
