And in its article, the newspaper reported that 6 Western officials, whose names were not disclosed, expressed concern over the joint statement by Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan about their intention to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade and energy.
An unnamed EU representative noted that the EU is “watching Russian-Turkish cooperation more and more closely.”
Another official called Ankara’s attitude towards Moscow “too opportunistic.” “We are trying to draw the attention of the Turks to our concerns,” he added.
