"Financial Times"EU unity towards Russia faces a major challenge

The Financial Times newspaper reported that the unity of the positions of the EU countries on the issue of relations with Russia is undergoing a difficult and difficult test against the backdrop of rising inflation and possible measures to save energy resources.

The newspaper notes that the European Union “demonstrated a united front” after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine.

“Nevertheless, European leaders will face a difficult test: to cope with rising inflation, a minimum wage crisis and real prospects for energy conservation,” she added.

Will EU leaders be able to continue the defense later, or will their solidarity crumble as angry consumers’ rejection forces them to lower their animosity towards Moscow?

“There are some indications that this device, at least in terms of power, does not look as strong as it should be,” she said.
